Subject: Wyse 386/25 With WD1007V and NetWare 386
Date: September 28, 1990

PROBLEM: The problem is with a Wyse 32/25 300 with the WD1007V
controller, instead of the WD1007A controller. This machine
fails to load ISADISK four out of five times. It gets
"Abend: Invalid physical device passed to PutRequest". The
one time it loads, it runs forever. Even if you exit from
the NetWare 386 operating system to DOS and start the server
again, it will load fine, and as many times as you want.
The WD1007V has the latest Revision 1.1 BIOS. We got the
customer to try loading at 8MHz and that works fine. So for
now, they are loading the operating system at 8MHz and then
switching speeds to 25MHz.
COMMENTS: It looks like the Wyse has a timing problem on the bus,
which shows at initialization time. The customer is going
to ask Wyse and Western Digital to fix it between them.
